The cuisine of Gandia and La Safor is part of the aromas and flavors, raw materials and traditions of the rest of the Mediterranean. The inhabitants of La Safor are huge consumers of rice: the soupy ones, the dry ones (in the oven) and the ones stewed in paella.

The ingredients can be very varied and the rice recipe book is very extensive. The paella container is also used to make the "fideuà", in which rice has been replaced by noodles (which are cooked with fish and shellfish), and which is a dish that is considered to originate in Gandia.

Alqueria del Duc

It is a rural construction that originally served as a flour and textile mill, taking advantage of the abundance of water in this area.

In 1592 it was acquired by Alonso de Borja y Castro. When he died without issue it passed into the hands of the Dukes of Gandia and since then it has been known as Alqueria de Duc. In 1981 it became the property of the City Council and today it is the headquarters of the Tourist Development Center (CDT).

Bairen Castle

It is built in an enclave inhabited since ancient times, as evidenced by the archaeological remains found belonging to the Bronze Age as well as the Iberian, Roman and medieval times, both Islamic and Christian.
Remains of the different cultures that occupied Bairén can also be seen in the construction of the castle.

La Torre dels Pares

This farmhouse is located in the middle of a large orange grove next to the road from Gandia to Daimuz and is accessed through a path that bears its name.
The farmhouse is arranged around a closed interior patio in which the south body is the main building and on both sides of it are the agricultural warehouses. The tower is located inside the patio attached to the residential body

Monastery of San Jerónimo de Cotalba

It is considered one of the most notable monastic constructions in the Valencian Community.
Visitors can admire its entrance courtyard, with the Gothic tower, Patio de los Naranjos, the Mudejar cloister, the old church with a Baroque chapel, the old chapter house with the image of the Virgen de la Salud, the oil mill with the fresco of the Padre Borrás (Sacred Supper of the school of Juan de Juanes), the silo, the winery, the stables and the old kitchen of the friars, as well as the impressive romantic gardens and the Gothic aqueduct that surrounds it.
