At Magic, we are committed to sustainable tourism under the philosophy 'Magic Planet', in line with a more protected and secure long-term future, respecting our planet's natural resources.

This project, born from our commitment to the environment and to reducing our environmental footprint, aims to develop our efficient, sustainable, and committed hotel management model. For Magic, issues such as the reduction of the use of non-renewable resources and energy, recycling, the incorporation of ecodesign criteria into our processes, and raising awareness among citizens and our employees are some of our priorities.

These are some of the actions we are carrying out:

• Circular economy: We enhance the life cycle of our goods, products, and services by optimizing and extending their useful life. Furthermore, we promote the sustainable use of resources and prevent waste generation by encouraging the recycling of all types of materials and their controlled disposal: paper and cardboard, glass, oil, ink, batteries, plastic, furnishings, etc. We continue to work with organizations like BIOSCORE to improve sustainability and periodically incorporate new measures such as the use of biodegradable products for cleaning rooms and facilities. 
• We care for our team and our society: We strive to improve the quality of life for our staff by incorporating technology and innovation into their work, such as height-adjustable beds that significantly improve the ergonomics and well-being of our cleaning team, especially our housekeepers, an essential figure in the hotel experience.
• Zero Plastic: With measures such as the installation of osmosis-filtered water fountains and the elimination of single-use plastic products, we have stopped consuming over 8 million products annually in our accommodations, such as plastic straws or plastic bottles. These measures improve the planet's health, preventing CO2 generation and millions of microplastics from reaching the oceans and ending up in the food chain.
• Control of energy efficiency: We promote responsible energy use in all facilities, opting for natural light and LED lighting. We are immersed in an energy transition process with solar panels so that all our complexes can be self-sufficient and generate 0 impacts on the carbon footprint. We monitor and supervise the responsible use of lights, air conditioners, etc., in accordance with environmental regulations and recommendations.
• Healthy food: We promote the use of fresh, local, or zero-kilometer products and food, reducing the transportation effect. Furthermore, we incorporate premium quality products for all types of diets into our catering: vegetarians, coeliacs, intolerances... In addition, we promote responsible consumption, avoiding food waste, in all our buffets and restaurants.
• Physical exercise: We promote the use of elements such as bicycles or walking instead of taking a vehicle to try to mitigate climate change and the environmental footprint.
• Electric chargers: We are working to implement chargers so you can recharge your electric car.

Less plastics, less waste, more sustainability.

The reduction of plastic materials is an essential objective to help the planet in the long term and mitigate the environmental footprint.

Therefore, at Magic we have developed a series of actions aimed at reducing and eliminating plastic materials that end up in the oceans, affecting the food chain and whose manufacture contributes to generating CO2 and increasing greenhouse gases: 

• Single-use plastics: we have decided to eliminate single-use plastics in our resort with the aim of reducing their use on the planet. With this measure, we have stopped using more than 3 million plastic straws, more than two million plastic bottles and more than 3 million single-use plastic cups annually in our accommodations, contributing to generate less microplastics and less pollution produced when manufacturing and transporting these materials.
• Reusable cups and osmosis filtered water fountains: You can ask our staff in our bars for your biodegradable reusable cup and reduce the number of plastic cups used. In addition, we have installed dozens of osmosis-filtered water fountains in all our accommodations, so you can refresh yourself by reusing your chilly bottle.
• Biodegradable amenities: We are replacing most of our amenities with biodegradable alternatives.
  Recycle your waste: We know that recycling has a big impact on reducing our environmental footprint. You will find garbage cans of different colors to recycle your waste to the appropriate place. In addition, we have agreements with different companies to recycle cardboard, paper and other waste.

Reducing our water footprint and making responsible use of water resources is one of our objectives in our sustainability plan.

This not only helps our environment, it helps protect our wild plants and animals as well as ensure proper food production.

For all this and much more, water use and reduction takes on special relevance.

At Magic we have implemented actions such as:

• Responsible product cleaning: In most Magic lodgings, we have decided to leave the daily washing of utensils such as sheets and towels except for the client who asks us to do so, contributing to the saving of water and the reduction of cleaning products, which are harmful to the environment.
• Low consumption faucets: All our faucets have low water consumption, thus reducing water waste.
• Sustainable showers and toilets: Most of our showers have a water-saving system to minimize their daily use, and our toilets are equipped with buttons to prevent water waste.

A single sheet of paper may seem insignificant, however, the use of thousands of sheets a day can be very harmful to the planet.

Therefore, one of our goals is to reduce the use of paper as much as possible.

Some of the actions we have implemented at Magic to reduce paper are:

• Online check in: You can check in online or if you prefer to do it at reception, you can ask our staff to send you documents by e-mail to avoid the use of paper.
• Recycling: At Magic, we have agreements with different companies and we recycle all the paper and cardboard we use, thus extending its useful life.
• Paper 0: At Magic we aim to eradicate the use of paper, eliminating cardboard and paper and replacing it with telematic media and support. In the case of having to use paper, we are working on alternatives and sustainable materials.

Ensuring access to affordable, safe and sustainable energy for all our guests is a priority objective at Magic.

Therefore, pursuing energy efficiency and making a correct and moderate use of available energy sources have become lines of action within Magic.

Some of our actions to minimize energy impact are:

• Energy-efficient lights: All our lights are energy-efficient and electrically efficient. We minimize the energy impact throughout our resort.
• Natural light: We have opted for the relocation and repositioning of some of our spaces within the resort, thus taking better advantage of natural light as opposed to artificial light.
• CO2 emissions: We have reduced CO2 emissions through actions such as using local products and making better use of our energy equipment. We use electric buggies for internal transport to avoid emissions and petrol consumption.
• Future self-supply: We are working on the installation of solar panels in our accommodations. The goal is to generate a 0 impact on our carbon footprint.
• Programmable air conditioning and heating: We use air conditioning and heating in different time slots in order to reduce daily energy use in our resort.
